Hello,
My name is Bryan, and I am currently a senior frontend dev at Firstbase. I wanted to take a quick moment to introduce myself personally and professionally.
First and foremost, I’m a follower of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
Secondly, spending time with the two most important people in my life is incredibly important to me. My son and wife are the two most important people in my life. Thus, spending time with them, like going for a walk in the park, is usually what I am doing.
When I am not with them, I’m usually working. As mentioned above, I am a senior frontend dev, so of course, frontend development is my obsession. I firmly believe I have one of the best jobs in the world.
At work, here’s what I do and absolutely love doing:
- Solving hard technical problems that matter - This is mainly working on our React web applications, of course. However, I am also not opposed to sitting down with devops and/or backend devs to talk through a problem and potential solutions. To be honest with you, talking more about the problems (all the angles to it, use cases, etc.) is my favorite part of this. Lastly, I sincerely enjoy working on hard technical problems that add value to our customers, and in some cases, our team. There’s no sense in spending hard time working on problems that don’t add much value to our end users.
- Working with like minded folks - My absolute favorite part of work are the folks I work with. Period. I love working on technical problems with folks who are fun to work with and who I can learn a ton from.
- Learning, learning, learning - Part of the reason why I love what I do is that it never gets boring (well, almost never). There’s always new things to learn and try.
Given the above, I wanted to start a blog to just capture what I’ve learned throughout my journey. Specifically, things that I feel aren’t covered by most other blogs out there. These include technical, but often, soft skills related things.
If you’d like to get in touch with me, please send me an email at bryan.guillen217@gmail.com.
All the best!
